Gujarat Rains: Heavy rains have relentlessly hammered various parts of Gujarat since Monday, causing widespread flooding in low-lying areas. Seven people have lost their lives and seven others are missing due to rain-related incidents. Hundreds have been relocated to safer areas as a precaution. The administration is bracing for further downpours, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting heavy to very heavy rains, and isolated extremely heavy rainfall, across several districts until Thursday morning.

Vadodara has been severely impacted by extreme rainfall, leading to massive floods that have disrupted daily life. The city is grappling with extensive waterlogging and infrastructural damage, causing considerable upheaval for residents. The relentless downpours have paralysed normal activities and hindered mobility. 

During the heavy rainfall, a section of the bridge on National Highway 56 in Chhota Udepur district sustained damage due to the powerful flow of water in the Bharaj River. This incident has disrupted vehicle movement on the highway.

In Vadodara, cars started floating on the highway. The severe flooding has submerged the road, causing vehicles to drift and creating a hazardous situation for commuters. 

A video from the area near Mahaprabhuji Peeth in Jamnagar, Gujarat, captures the dramatic scene of a police chowki being swept away by extreme flooding caused by heavy rainfall. 

During heavy rains on Monday, a tractor-trolley carrying 17 people was swept away while attempting to cross a flooded causeway on a river in Morbi, Gujarat. The incident occurred near Dhavana village, which has been battered by intense rainfall in recent days. An NDRF team was deployed to conduct a search operation for the missing individuals.

Meanwhile, seven persons have died in rain-related incidents in different parts of Gujarat, and heavy showers continued to pound the state for the third consecutive day on Tuesday, throwing normal life out of gear and flooding low-lying areas. More than 6,000 persons have been relocated to safer places as water levels in dams and rivers rose amid incessant rainfall.
