Hindus Fighting Back In Bangladesh, Not Migrating To India: Himanta Biswa Sarma
Hindus not migrating to India, they are staying in trouble-torn Bangladesh and fighting back, says Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Silchar: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday claimed that the Hindus haven’t tried to migrate from Bangladesh and attempted to enter India since the neighbouring country was hit by unrest. CM Himanta, while addressing a press conference in Silchar, asserted that not a single Hindu tried to enter Indian territory, even during the deadly anti-quota protests by the students and when the minorities were being allegedly targeted and killed. However, he claimed that the Muslims from Bangladesh were trying to cross the border amidst deadly turmoil in their country.
Talking to the media personnel, Chief Minister Himanta said, “Hindus are staying and fighting in Bangladesh. In the last month, not a single Hindu person has been detected trying to enter India.”
He emphasized that Muslims from the neighbouring country were attempting to cross over to seek employment in India’s textile sector. “35 Muslim infiltrators have been arrested in the past month. they are trying to enter, but those coming are not for Assam, but to go to Bangalore, Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore to work in the textile industry,” the CM claimed.
“We have requested our prime minister to impress upon the Bangladesh government to ensure the safety of Hindus,” he added.
