Kolkata: The main accused in the Kolkata Rape and Murder Case, Sanjoy Roy will be undergoing the polygraph test today, before 5:30 PM.

This test is being conducted as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is expected to submit a status report on the investigation, to the Supreme Court of India.

Sanjoy Roy To Undergo Polygraph Test Before 5:30 PM

Today, Kolkata's Silahalada Court has to give its decision on Kolkata Horror accused Sanjay Roy's polygraph test before 5.30 pm.

Supreme Court has asked Kolkata Court to give its decision on CBI's plea for the polygraph test of the accused by this evening.

Along with Sanjoy Roy, the four fellow-doctors of the victim will also undergo a polygraph test.

CBI Custody of Kolkata Horror Accused Ends Today

The CBI custody of Sanjoy Roy, responsible for the gruesome rape and murder of ‘Abhaya’ at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, ends today.

Sanjay Roy will appear in court again today, however, due to security reasons, it is not decided whether he will be presented in court physically or through video conferencing.

• As probe continues in Kolkata rape-murder case, key accused Sanjoy Roy's sister has said that she did not see him for a long time that's why she can't say whether he can do such a crime. “He (Sanjoy Roy) was very normal in the younger age, he can't do like this. I never saw him fighting. If he has done this then whatever action government take is justified.”
• Sources also informed that the CBI may crack the case before the next hearing in the case.   
• According to sources, on duty doctors and a few others are being examined by the CBI.

• Today, FAIMA delegation will be meeting with Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj to discuss various security issues in Delhi government hospitals, along with other common challenges faced by resident doctors. The meeting is scheduled for today at 1:30 PM onwards at the Delhi Secretariat.
• Students to go to CBI office at 12 to meet the officials and discuss with them, the status of investigation.
• Today the process of polygraph test of Sandip Ghosh and the remaining 4 doctors will also begin.
• A CCTV footage collected from the hospital, allegedly showed the 'civic volunteer' near the chest department ward at around 11 am on August 8. Roy could be seen staring at the victim.
