KSRTC Announces 1,500 Special Buses for Swarna Gowri and Ganesh Festival
KSRTC is deploying 1,500 extra buses from Bengaluru for Swarna Gowri and Ganesh Festival from September 5 to 7.
Bengaluru: In preparation for the upcoming Swarna Gowri and Ganesh festivals, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced an extensive plan to accommodate the increased travel demand. From September 5 to 7, KSRTC will operate an additional 1,500 buses from Bengaluru to various destinations across Karnataka and neighbouring states.
Swarna Gowri will be celebrated on September 6, followed by Ganesh Festival on September 7. To facilitate smooth travel for festival-goers, KSRTC has scheduled special buses from Bengaluru's Kempegowda Bus Station to several key locations, including Dharmastala, Kukkesubramanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Shringeri, Horanadu, Davangere, Hubbali, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Bidar, Tirupati, Vijayawada, and Hyderabad.
Additionally, special services will be provided from Mysuru Road Bus Station to Mysuru, Hunsur, Piriyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalanagar, and Madikeri. Premier special buses will also run from BMTC Bus Station, Shanthinagar (TTMC) to destinations in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, including Madurai, Kumbakonam, Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruchi, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, and Kozhikode.
KSRTC has made advance booking facilities available for these special buses. Tickets can be booked through KSRTC counters in Karnataka and neighbouring states, including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Puducherry, Maharashtra, and Goa.
To ease travel costs, KSRTC is offering a five percent discount on fares for groups of four or more booking together, and a 10 percent discount on return journey tickets if both onward and return tickets are purchased simultaneously.
In addition to these measures, special buses will be operated from taluk and district bus stands within KSRTC's jurisdiction based on traffic needs.
"Advance reservation of tickets for the services of KSRTC can be booked through the booking counters established by KSRTC at important cities of neighbouring States," a KSRTC spokesperson stated.
These arrangements aim to ensure that travellers can attend the festivities with greater convenience and ease.
