3 hospitalised after chlorine gas leaked in Nainital
At least three people were hospitalised after chlorine gas leaked from a cylinder near Sukhatal Pump House in Uttarakhand’s Nainital on Thursday, officials said.
A team of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), police, administration and doctors reached the spot and started evacuating people from their homes, they said.

Never imagined it was grenade, says owner of house in Chandigarh
On Chandigarh's suspicious explosion, Gopesh Malhotra, owner of the house said, "I stay with my father in this house. Yesterday at around 6 pm, a person came out of an autorickshaw and hurled an object towards us and a blast took place. I could never imagine it was a grenade. I checked on my father and tried to catch him but he managed to escape. It was a huge blast, the windows were broken. Luckily, no one was injured. We do not have enmity with anyone. Police are conducting an investigation. I am not aware of the reason behind this. One of my tenants who was a retired police officer used to stay here in 2021. He left from here around 1.5 years ago."

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "The eviction drive happened peacefully. When the Congress started opposing the eviction drive in the morning, the situation became worse and a large number of people with lathis, and bamboo sticks attacked the police and government officials team who went to the area today. 22 police personnel and a Revenue Circle officer were injured. Police also resorted to firing shots and two people died and seven others are injured."

I waited 3 days for them that they should have come and settled their problem. Even when they didn't accept the verdict of the Supreme Court, I waited 3 days with my highest officials, including Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DG and my MoS. I am sorry. I apologize to the people of this country and the world who are supporting them (doctors), please give your support. I don't have any problem. We want justice for the common people. We want justice for the treatment of common people. We want that as per Supreme Court instruction they must join their duty. Though, 3 days passed after the Supreme Court verdict but we are not taking any disciplinary action because sometimes we have to tolerate. It is our duty to tolerate sometimes."

Ganpati Procession Clashes: Section 144 in Karnataka's Mandya, 45 Detained; Bandh Tomorrow
Several restrictions have been imposed to maintain law and order situation following clashes between two groups in Karnataka's Mandya during the Ganesh Idol procession on Wednesday night. So far, the police have detained more than 45 people in connection with the violence.
Further, law enforcement has declared a high alert in the area and imposed Section 144, which restricts a gathering of over five people, to bring the situation under control. Section 163 of BNS has also been imposed as the situation continues to remain tense.
