Mumbai: In a significant stride toward bolstering rail connectivity in Maharashtra, the state government is poised to launch the maiden Vande Bharat Express service in Marathwad.

The new train service is anticipated to traverse the Jalna-Mumbai route, passing through the Aurangabad railway station, pending the final approval from the Railway Board.

The progress of this ambitious venture is already in motion, with authorities gearing up for track testing on the Jalna-Manmad section.

An official announcement regarding the commencement of the service is expected to follow once the Railway Board provides the green signal.

When will the maiden Vande Bharat Express commence operations?

A senior official from the South Central Railway (SCR) revealed that the maiden Vande Bharat Express in Marathwad is projected to commence operations either by the end of this month or at the beginning of the new year.

The SCR is actively preparing for the launch, with a dedicated team of professionals undergoing rigorous training at Secunderabad to manage the operational aspects of the service.

The speed

The express train is envisioned to achieve an average speed of 130 km per hour, surpassing the standard 100 kmph limit imposed on certain express trains. The actual average speed may vary based on the track conditions and operational requirements.

Other Vande Bharat express for the Varanasi-New Delhi route

In a parallel initiative to fortify train connectivity nationwide, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently flagged off another Vande Bharat Express for the Varanasi-New Delhi route. This decision aims to enhance rail connectivity in key cities such as Prayagraj, Varanasi, New Delhi, and Kanpur.

As Maharashtra anticipates the introduction of Vande Bharat Express, the state envisions a more efficient and extensive rail network, contributing to the overall development and connectivity in the region.
