Mamata Apologises For Delay In Removing Top Officials In Kolkata Horror Rape-Murder Case
Mamata Banerjee apologized for the delay. “I apologise for being late,” the West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo said.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the removal of key officials, including two senior health administrators and the Kolkata Commissioner of Police, following a meeting with protesting junior doctors. During a late-night press conference, Banerjee apologized for the delay. “I apologise for being late,” Mamata Banerjee said.

The TMC supremo detailed the outcomes of the earlier meeting with the doctors, which involved 42 representatives from their side and numerous high-ranking officials from the government.
“42 members have signed from the doctor’s side. Everyone has signed the minutes. Manoj Pant has signed the minutes of the meeting from our side, and everyone has signed from the doctor’s side,” Banerjee said. She highlighted that the meeting had been attended by several senior officials, including Chief Secretary Manoj Pant, Rajiv Kumar, and Chandrima Bhattacharya, among others.
The chief minister emphasized that the decisions made were the result of mutual discussions between both parties. She also noted that detailed information about the meeting and the decisions taken is available in the WhatsApp group of Nabanna, the state secretariat.
