Man Arrested in Hyderabad Selling Over 3.8 Kg of Ganja Chocolates
A man hailing from Bihar was arrested with more than 3.8 Kgs of ganja chocolates as he was selling ganja chocolates.
Hyderabad: A man hailing from Bihar was arrested with more than 3.8 Kgs of ganja chocolates in Hyderabad, police said on Saturday.
Police said that the accused identified as Santosh Kumar was arrested and a total of 3.8 kgs of ganja chocolates was recovered from his possession.
“Santosh is a migrant labourer from the Samastipur district of Bihar . He noticed that many of his co-workers in Hyderabad were abusing ganja. Realising that there was a good demand for ganja, he hatched a plan to sell ganja chocolates,” police said.
According to police, the accused In the month of August went to his native place and purchased 19 packets of ganja chocolates from Birendar Singh and returned to Hyderabad.
He started selling it to persons in need of it at Rs 30 per chocolate," the police official said.
The accused was nabbed at Adibatla and based on his confession, police are making efforts to trace his accomplice.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway, an official said.
Earlier, 86 kg of ganja worth Rs 30 lakh was seized and two individuals were arrested for smuggling by the Cyberabad police en route to Delhi from Odisha on Thursday.
Both accused hailing from Odisha , have been identified as 25-year-old Sunindra Kumar Singh from Gajapati District and 30-year-old Laxmi from Malkangiri District.
