Man Jumped into Water at Thosarpaga Ghat In Pune, Firefighters Save Him

Pune: A team of firefighters deployed at various ghats in Pune to respond to any emergency situation during Ganpati Idol immersion rescued a man who jumped into the water from a ghat in Thosar Paga. The incident took place on Thursday at around 3 pm, when the fire personnel spotted a man jumping into the water at a ghat. The man was immediately rushed to the hospital after he was rescued.

According to an official, on September 12, at around 3 pm, a man jumped into the water from a ghat in Thosarpaga, prompting an immediate response from the firefighting department. The fire personnel stationed at various ghats for the Ganesh festival were quickly mobilized.

The man’s sudden leap into the water caused an uproar, leading nearby firefighters, Jitendra Kumbhar and Shailesh Dawane, to take action. With the help of lifeguards Sandeep Shinde, Kapal Bhoite, Dattatray Chinke, and Santosh Gaikwad, they were able to spot the man in the water. They threw a life jacket, life ring, and rope to safely pull him out of the water.

The individual who had jumped was identified as Santosh Chinchkumar Vishwakumar. Although it was clear that he could not swim, the reason for his jump into the water remains unclear.
