Man Kills Wife For 'Staring' At Him, Surrenders To Police In UP's Meerut

Police said that the accused during initial interrogation said that he killed her wife Manju Devi as she was staring at him.

Meerut: A 38-year-old man killed his wife following a heated argument at their residence in Jahangirabad area on Monday, police said. 

The accused has been identified as Sachin Valmiki. Police said that the accused during initial interrogation said that he killed her wife Manju Devi as she was staring at him.

“She was ‘Staring’ at me for no reason” 

Later, the husband surrendered to the police and said that her wife was unnecessarily staring at him which resulted in her murder. Accused also revealed to the police that he was having doubts about her extramarital affairs as he always saw her talking on the phone.  

Both husband and his wife were contractual workers at a municipal corporation. 

 A case has been registered under Section 103 BNS against the accused.

Earlier, a 23-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and killed by the owner of a grocery store in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district late Sunday night.

The police said family members of the victim, Lakshmi Devi, a resident of Sardar Nagar village in Bareilly, lodged a report of her abduction at Hafizgangj police station on Sunday evening but the police failed to trace her. Later, her body was found in the Hafizganj locality.
