Man allegedly murders wife and children with cricket bat in Thane, Maharashtra, now evading arrest
Amit Bagdi allegedly killed his wife and children with a cricket bat in Thane; police in pursuit of the accused amid ongoing investigations.
Thane: A horrifying incident unfolded in the village of Kasarvadavali in Thane, Maharashtra, as a man named Amit Dharmaveer Bagdi reportedly killed his wife and two children using a cricket bat, according to police reports on Thursday. Further details provided by the police indicated that the accused is currently evading authorities.
According to ANI, this tragic incident occurred due to persistent conflicts between Amit, known for his habitual drinking, and his wife. Fed up with his behaviour, Amit's wife sought refuge at a relative's place, taking her children along.
However, three days ago, the accused visited his family and had been staying with them since. On Thursday morning, when the relative, Vikas Bagdi, who lived alone, left for his work around 7 am, he returned home at approximately 11:30 am to a horrifying sight. The lifeless bodies of the mother and her two children lay motionless, with a wooden cricket bat found nearby, compelling Vikas to notify the police.
Upon receiving the distressing news, the police arrived at the scene, and the bodies were sent for post-mortem examinations. Thane's Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Amar Jadhav confirmed the registration of a case against the accused and assured ongoing efforts to locate and apprehend him.
