New Delhi: Stooping to a new low, Congress leader K Muraleedharan on Tuesday made a personal attack on Prime Minister Modi, saying “PM should not inaugurate Ram Mandir as he is not following Rama”. Speaking to Republic TV, Muraleedharan said, “PM is not following Rama. During Yagna, Sita used to sit next to Rama. We don't know if Modi has a wife or has he divorced her?”
This is not the first time a Congress leader has made a personal attack on PM Modi. From calling Prime Minister Modi ‘Panauti’ to Chai-wala, the list runs long. However, such personal attacks against the PM have backfired every time during elections.
While addressing a poll rally in Rajasthan's Barmer last year, Rahul Gandhi had made headlines by terming Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a 'panauti' (bad omen). During his address, Gandhi asserted that Modi's presence at the Narendra Modi Stadium led to India's defeat in the World Cup final.
Later, BJP took a jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after the Congress party faced humiliating defeat in three states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. "Who is the biggest Panauti?', CT Ravi wrote on X (formerly Twitter) and also tagged Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party in his post.
