Mumbai ALERT: 'Stay Indoors' Advises BMC Amid Heavy Rain Warning | Traffic Details

Amid heavy rains in Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a warning, asking residents to stay indoors.

Mumbai: The financial capital of India has been experiencing heavy rainfall and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued an Orange Alert for the Mumbai city.

Amid the downpour accompanied with thunderstorms and lightning, the BMC has issued an advisory for the residents of Mumbai.

Mumbai Rains: BMC Issues Advisory

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued an advisory for all the residents ahead of the IMD warning of a high tide in the Maharashtra capital.

In a social media post on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has said, “Mumbaikars are requested to avoid stepping out, if not essential. For any assistance, please dial 1916.”

High Tide Warning for Mumbai

The BMC warning also mentions the forecast of a high tide as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD). 

The post reads, “The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert (heavy to very heavy rainfall) for Mumbai today. Today's high tide is at 4.39 pm & of 3.69 meter.”

Andheri Subway SHUT Due To Waterlogging

The rain in Mumbai has caused severe waterlogging, adversely affecting traffic in the city. In a post on social media, the Mumbai Traffic Police has informed the shutting down of the Andheri Subway.

The post reads, “Andheri subway is closed temporarily due to water logging. Traffic is diverted to S.V road. Commuters are requested to take note."
