Mumbai 'No Parking Zones' you might want to avoid for New Year

Mumbai: No Parking spots will be available for all types of vehicles on Juhu Church Road from Tulip Star Hotel Junction to Balraj Sahani Road.

Mumbai: As we bid bye to 2023, Mumbai traffic police have issued an advisory imposing several restrictions on vehicular movement for December 31, 2023 and January 1, 2024. These orders will come into effect from 2 pm on New Year's Eve, an official statement issued on Friday said. It read, "Large crowd is expected to gather at various palces on the 'New Year -2024 Celebration' eve, particularly Juhu sea beach, hotels and clubs on Juhu Tara Road. There will be heavy pedestrian crossings as well as the movement of vehicles in large numbers on Juhu Tara Road, Juhu Road, Juhu Church Road and VM Road. Hence, traffic will be slow on these roads. It is necessary to issue the following orders for the regulation and decrease of traffic congestion on the roads mentioned below on December 31, 2023, from 14:00 hrs to January 1, 2024, till 08:00 hrs."

No vehicle Zone in Mumbai- From December 2, 2023 2 PM to January 1, 2024, 8 AM:

No Parking spots will be available for all types of vehicles on Juhu Church Road from Tulip Star Hotel Junction to Balraj Sahani Road (Both South and North Bounds), Santacruz (W) and Maharana Pratap Junction to Juhu Koliwada (Both South and North Bounds), Santacruz (W).

Furthermore, no parking will be available at the Juhu Tara Road shall also have 'No Parking' for all types of vehicles from Juhu Koliwada Junction to BP Patel Junction (both South and North Bounds), Santacruz (W), as per the official statement.

Roads closed and alternative routes for travellers:

To facilitate the celebrations, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Marg will be closed to all vehicular traffic, except emergency vehicles, from the junction of Shyama Prasad Mukharjee Chowk(Regal Junction) towards Gate way Of India, up to The Bombay Presidency Club (Radio Club) in both the south and northbound directions.

Furthermore, for commuters seeking an alternative route, Shahid Bhagat Singh Marg leading to a left turn onto Mahakavi Bhushan Marg, then a right turn onto Boman Behram Road, from where they can head to their desired destination.

To keep a check on drunk and driving special campaign will be conducted by the Traffic Branch during the two days celebration.
