Mumbai: IndiGo Airline has issued a travel advisory for its passengers travelling to and from Mumbai, warning them of potential delays.
This advisory comes in the light of the torrential rains in various parts of Maharashtra including Mumbai.
Several flights at the Mumbai Airport were delayed and cancelled due to the heavy rain; keeping that in mind, IndiGo Airline has issued a travel advisory.
The travel advisory reads, “Mumbai is going to see increased rainfall, particularly until tonight, with more rain anticipated in the coming days.”
The advisory further reads, “Please monitor your flight status http://bit.ly/3DNYJqj and plan your travel carefully due to potential waterlogged roads.”
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for Maharashtra and has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall for today.
Following incessant rainfall, a high tide alert has also been issued for Mumbai. Warning about the same, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said, “Heavy to very heavy rain in city & suburbs. Possibility of extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places. Also, there is a posssibility of a high tide measuring 4.59 metre at 12:50 pm.”
In another news, at least 36 flights at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport were cancelled on Sunday due to heavy rain in Mumbai. The downpour caused poor visibility, prompting the airport operator to halt runway operations twice within an hour, according to reports.
