Mumbai's Haji Ali Dargah Receives Bomb Threat, Caller Threatens To Blow It Up
Mumbai’s Haji Ali Dargah received a bomb threat on Thursday evening prompting the Mumbai police and other security agencies to initiate a probe at the dargah.
Mumbai’s famous Haji Ali Dargah received a bomb threat on Thursday evening prompting the Mumbai police and other security agencies to initiate a search operation at the dargah. According to the Mumbai police, the bomb threat was received at the office of Haji Ali Dargah Trust at around 5 pm on Thursday. The caller, who introduced himself as Pawan, allegedly threatened to blow up the Haji Ali Dargah located in Mumbai’s Worli Area. The Mumbai police along with the bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and a search was conducted at the dargah. The police are also trying to trace out the caller, who made a threatening call.
According to the Mumbai police, a call was received at the office of Haji Ali Dargah Trust at around 5 pm threatening to blow up Haji Ali Dargah located in the Worli area of Mumbai. The caller introduced himself as Pawan and used abusive language and made controversial statements about the Dargah.
The administrative officer of Haji Ali Dargah passed the information immediately to the nearest Tardeo police station, following which, the police team along with the bomb disposal squad team reached the Dargah and conducted a search operation.
As per the police officials, the Haji Ali Dargah premises was minutely checked by the police and the bomb disposal squad. However, nothing suspicious was found. After the incident a case was registered at the Tardeo police station and a probe was initiated. The police are trying to trace the caller.
The threat call comes around one month after a similar message was received on a flight taken off from Mumbai which later appeared as a hoax. On August 22, a bomb threat message in the washroom of an Air India flight from Mumbai that resulted in a full emergency being declared at the Thiruvananthapuram airport turned out to be a hoax.
