No Guest Next Door Heard Gunshot: Family Raises Questions In Divya Pahuja Murder Case

Gurugram: In the latest development in the Divya Pahuja murder case, her sister claimed that the murder, which took place on January 2, was extremely well-orchestrated and that several objects were used to eliminate her.

The 27-year-old former model Divya was allegedly murdered under suspicious circumstances in Gurugram, for which Abhijeet Singh has been named as the prime suspect. 

Abhijeet was the owner of City Point Hotel where the alleged murder took place. However, Divya had hit the headlines in the past as she was one of the accused in gangster Sandeep Gadoli's murder in an alleged fake police encounter in Mumbai in 2016. 

The Bombay High Court had granted bail to Divya in June last year, about seven years after she was arrested. According to a preliminary inquiry, Divya was allegedly trying to extort money from Singh with a few objectionable pictures of him, following which he took this extreme step.

As per the CCTV footage that was combed during the probe, Divya was taken to the hotel room by five people. It was seen that the suspects, including hotel owner Abhijeet Singh (56), allegedly dragged her body wrapped in a white sheet through the lobby of Hotel City Point to a blue BMW car. 

Meanwhile, although the BMW car was found abandoned at a bus stand in Punjab’s Patiala, the former model’s body is yet to be recovered. Narrating the harrowing plight, Divya's sister stated that when she was unable to reach out to her, she visited Abhijeet’s residence and found Balraj who had Divya's phone with him. 

She later reached the hotel where she found her sister's blazer in Abhijeet’s hotel. She said she smelled a rat when Abhijeet handed her Divya's debit card saying she had left it with him.

Divya’s sister, who doesn’t wish to be named, stated that although people were present in rooms near room number 111, no one heard any gunshot. 

She spotted her sister's cream ring, and shoes in room number 114 and she even found other objects and hammers in the hotel room and asserted that her sister was not shot dead but was killed with other objects. 

She even stated that Abhijeet might have spiked her food as she also saw a chicken plate at the crime spot. 

Till now, Abhijeet, Hemraj (28) and Om Prakash (23) have been arrested while several teams have been formed to nab the other two accused, police said.
