'No One Can Mess with Nation's Security': Amit Shah Attacks Rahul Gandhi Over China Remarks
Shah said that speaking anti-national and taking sides of the forces that break the country has become a habit of Rahul and the Congress party.
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday slammed Rahul Gandhi's recent claim that Chinese troops occupying land in Ladakh, saying that as long as "as long as there is BJP, no one can touch reservation and no one can play with the unity of the country."
The Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ) leader in a post on X said that speaking anti-national and taking sides of the forces that break the country has become a habit of Rahul and the Congress party.
"Speaking anti-national things and standing with forces that break the country has become a habit of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party," the post read.
"Whether supporting the anti-national and anti-reservation agenda of JKNC in Jammu and Kashmir or speaking anti-India things on foreign forums, Rahul Gandhi has always hurt the security and sentiments of the country...By talking about ending reservation from the country, Rahul Gandhi has once again brought the anti-reservation face of the Congress in front of the country...," Shah continued.
"I want to tell Rahul Gandhi that as long as there is BJP , no one can touch reservation and no one can play with the unity of the country," the Union Home Minister asserted.
Gandhi's Fresh Falsity: 'Chinese Troops Occupy Land Size of Delhi in Ladakh'
Speaking at the National Press Club in Washington DC, on Tuesday (local time), Rahul Gandhi , Leader of the Opposition said, "If you call having Chinese troops in 4,000 square kilometres of our territory handling something well, then maybe we have got Chinese troops occupying land the size of Delhi in Ladakh."
He further said that India's handling of this situation is a "disaster." The Congress MP claimed that the media does not cover the development, he added, "How would America react if a neighbour occupied 4000 square kilometres of your territory? Would any president be able to get away with saying that he's handled that well? So I don't think PM Modi handled China well at all. I think there's no reason Chinese troops should be sitting in our territory."
This isn't the first time Rahul has made such claims. Last year the Leader of the Opposition allegedly accused the Prime Minister of lying to the opposition over the Indo-China border situation in Ladakh.
"China has taken Indian land...thousands of square km...and ironically Indian Prime Minister said at a meeting with the Opposition that not an inch of Indian land was taken,” Rahul had said at a rally in Kargil during his visit to Ladakh last year.
However, the Prime Minister had told all the party leaders that neither anyone had entered nor was anyone present in Indian territory.
