Okha: 9 Indian fishermen caught from International Marine Boundary Line

On October 29, the Sri Lankan Navy on Sunday arrested a total of 37 fishermen in two separate incidents, and seized their five boats.

Okha: An Indian boat and nine fishermen were caught from the International Marine Boundary Line by the Pakistan Marine Security Agency, said Dharmesh Makwana, Deputy Superintendent, Fisheries Officer here. 

On October 29, the Sri Lankan Navy on Sunday arrested a total of 37 fishermen in two separate incidents, and seized their five boats. 

In one of the incidents, multiple teams of the Sri Lankan Navy surrounded 23 Indian fishermen from Rameswaram who were fishing near Thalaimannar.

In another incident, 14 fishermen were arrested near Neduntheevu, and two of their boats were seized. They were then transported to the Mayilatti camp.

Since October 14, the Sri Lankan Navy has arrested as many as 64 fishermen and seized 10 boats in separate incidents. (With inputs from ANI)
