Over 2.03Cr Set To Cast Votes In Haryana Assembly Polls Today
Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal on Thursday said that over 2.03 crore voters in the state will be able to vote in Haryana polls on Oct 5.
Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal on Thursday said that over 2.03 crore voters in the state will be able to exercise their franchise in the upcoming Haryana Legislative Assembly General Elections.
Voting in Haryana is scheduled for October 5 from 7 am to 6 pm.
A total of 1,031 candidates are contesting in all 90 assembly constituencies, and 20,632 polling booths have been set up for voting.Agarwal further informed that out of 2,03,54,350 voters, over 1.07 crore voters are men, while more than 95 lakhs voters are women, and 467 are third gender, CEO Agarwal said.
There are a total of 5,24,514 young voters aged 18 to 19, alongside 1,49,142 voters with disabilities—comprising 93,545 males, 55,591 females, and 6 individuals identifying as third gender.
Additionally, there are 231,093 voters aged over 85, including 89,940 males and 141,153 females. Among these, 8,821 voters are over 100 years old, with 3,283 males and 5,538 females. The total number of service voters stands at 109,217, consisting of 104,426 males and 4,791 females.
The Chief Electoral Officer also noted that a total of 1,031 candidates are contesting in the general election, including 930 males and 101 females, with 464 of those being independent candidates. Haryana will hold elections on October 5 for its 90-member state legislative assembly, with counting scheduled for October 8.
