Police arrest trio in Palghar for allegedly selling nude videos on false auditions pretext

Exploiting the victims' aspirations for a film career, the accused trio deceived them into participating in what they believed were legitimate auditions.

Palghar: In a disturbing revelation, the police in Maharashtra's Palghar district have apprehended three individuals, including a female suspect, for their involvement in an illicit operation of shooting nude videos under the guise of film auditions. The accused trio allegedly lured women with promises of film roles, only to exploit them by shooting explicit content and subsequently selling it for profit, according to an official statement on Wednesday.

The unlawful activities unfolded on November 1, when the suspects called several women, including an 18-year-old, for auditions at a location under the jurisdiction of Arnala Sagari police. Exploiting the victims' aspirations for a film career, the accused trio deceived them into participating in what they believed were legitimate auditions.

Senior inspector Pramod Badakh of the Crime Unit III in Virar revealed that, under the pretext of auditions, the accused individuals recorded nude videos of the victims. Subsequently, these explicit videos were uploaded on the internet with the intent of monetary gains.

Following a complaint registered on December 12, the police diligently pursued the case, leading to the recent arrest of two suspects identified as Anujkumar Jaiprakash Jaiswal (30) and a 33-year-old woman from Virar. During their interrogation, crucial information was obtained, leading to the identification and subsequent arrest of the third accused, Sarjukumar Ramakant Vishwakarma (25), residing in Badlapur, Thane district.

The police have confiscated equipment essential for shooting videos, including mobile phones and a laptop, valued at Rs 1.9 lakh. The investigation is ongoing, and the accused trio is expected to face charges related to exploiting aspiring individuals and engaging in the illicit trade of explicit content.
