Rain Lashes Parts of Delhi-NCR, More Showers Likely; Orange alert for Today
The moderate-intensity rain brought the temperature down in parts of the NCR region.
New Delhi: A fresh spell of rain lashed parts of the national capital and its adjoining areas, including Noida and Ghaziabad, on Thursday morning.

Several areas including Green Park area, IGI Airport area received moderate-intensity rainfall. Visuals have emerged from multiple locations wherein rain can be seen lashing the streets. The downpour also to caused waterlogging in some areas.
IMD Predicts More Rain for Delhi Today
In a post on X, the India Meteorological Department wrote at 3.34am, "light to moderate rainfall at most places with Moderate to intense spells of rainfall at a few places likely to continue over Delhi and NCR during next 3 hours."
Orange Alert in Delhi Today
Meanwhile, the IMD has issued an orange alert in the city for Thursday, predicting heavy rainfall in isolated patches and a dip in the maximum temperature.
On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 23°C, three degrees below the normal for this time of the year, and the maximum temperature rose to 32.6°C, which was also one degree below the normal. Mostly, the day remained cloudy with some areas receiving light rainfall.
The city logged around 6mm of rainfall in the 24 hour period ending at 8.30am on Wednesday, and another 2.4mm of rainfall was registered between 8.30am and 5.30pm.
The early morning showers on Wednesday led to traffic snarls on several stretches, such as Vasant Vihar, Dwarka, INA and other parts of Outer Ring Road, during the morning peak hours.
Meanwhile, the air quality index in the city on Wednesday, improved to “satisfactory” air quality index (AQI) of 71, after recording two days of “moderate” AQI — 117 on Monday and 106 on Tuesday — according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
