Savitri Jindal Backs BJP, Becomes Third and Final Independent MLA To Extend Support

Hisar: India's richest woman Savitri Jindal, who won as an independent candidate from Hisar in Haryana became the third and final independent MLA to extend her support to the BJP on Tuesday after party leader and minister Dharmendra Pradhan met her.

As per Forbes India, which listed Savitri Jindal as the richest woman in the country this year having a net worth of USD 29.1 billion, is the mother of BJP Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal.
Savitri Jindal defeated her nearest rival, Congress candidate Ram Niwas Rana, by 18,941 votes. 

Jindal polled 49,231 votes while the Congress candidate secured 30,290 votes while BJP candidate and outgoing MLA Kamal Gupta was at the third spot with 17,385 votes.
