Gwalior: Gwalior authorities have banned filming reels, taking photos, and shooting videos at public locations and historical sites. This comes after a viral social media video sparked outrage, showing a woman dancing to a Bollywood song at the collector's office.

The ban applies to historical buildings, train stations, bus stands, government offices, parks, and other public areas. Anyone caught violating the order faces legal action.

The order, issued by Collector Ruchika Chouhan, restricts photography and videography deemed inappropriate or disrespectful. It emphasizes that these activities don't contribute to preserving historical sites or promoting the city.

The order cites a recent video shot on the collector's office stairs as an example of inappropriate content. It highlights concerns raised by the public about such activities tarnishing Gwalior's image.

To film at these locations, people will now need written permission from the relevant authority. This permission must be presented to the police superintendent and local magistrate three days in advance.
