New Delhi: A heated exchange was witnessed in the Supreme Court of India on Tuesday after a petitioner submitted a plea seeking enquiry against former Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi.
The Bench comprising Justices Bela M Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma had to eventually call security to remove the litigant from the courtroom following a heated arguement.
Arun Ramchandra Hublikar, the litigant in the case was rebuked by the top judges as they stated that he has filed multiple litigations deemed not fit.
“We are going to put an end to this. So many applications, one after the other," the court observed.
The litigant was seeking an enquiry against former Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi regarding the termination of former’s services. He has accused the former CJI of interfering in a judgement.
"Justice Gogoi unwarrantedly interfered in a judgement... He has made my life miserable," Hublikar told Court.
The court warned the litigant of a monetary fine saying that he should not take the name of any judge.
“We are going to impose cost. Don’t take any name of the judge. There is nothing in your case,” the bench stated.
To this litigant said, “At least I should get justice before my death."
Tensions heightened when Justice Trivedi ordered security to remove Hublikar from the courtroom. Despite several warnings, Hublikar persisted in arguing, even challenging the court’s decision not to issue a notice. “Madam, you are committing an injustice against me," he asserted before security stepped in.
