New Delhi: Residents of several neighbourhoods in south Delhi will experience a 12-hour water supply interruption on September 18 due to essential maintenance work, according to a statement from the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).

The affected areas include Green Park, Safdarjung Enclave, SDA, Hauz Khas, Munirka, Kishangarh, Masjid Mod, parts of Mehrauli, IIT , INU, AIIMS, Safdarjung Hospital, and surrounding regions of Deer Park. The DJB stated that the interruption will occur from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday.

The disruption is due to the installation of a 500 mm diameter flowmeter at the Deer Park BPS outlet, which supplies water to DDA flats in Munirka. Consequently, water flow from the 600 mm outlet line of Deer Park BPS will be halted during the maintenance period.

“Due to the installation of a 500 mm diametre flowmeter at the outlet of Deer Park BPS feeding to DDA flats Munirka, water supply from the 600 mm outlet line of Deer Park BPS will be stopped for 12 hours on Wednesday (September 18, 2024) from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.,” the statement said.

Residents should also anticipate potential water supply issues on the morning of September 19.

The DJB has advised the public to use water judiciously and has expressed regret for any inconvenience caused.

For those in need of immediate water supply, DJB will provide water tankers upon request through their helpline or central control room.
