Sweet Shop Employee Blows Kisses At School Girl in Pune, Police Nab Him
In Maharashtra’s Pune, a sweet shop employee in the Pimpri Chinchwad area, was arrested for allegedly blowing kisses at a school girl and sexually harassing her
Pune: In Maharashtra’s Pune district, a 35-year-old man, working at a sweet shop in the Pimpri Chinchwad area, was on Saturday arrested for allegedly blowing kisses at a school-going girl and sexually harassing her with his objectionable gestures. The incident took place on Saturday morning, while the victim was going to her school. Surprisingly, the incident came to the fore during an awareness session on ‘good touch and bad touch’ by the local police at the victim’s school, when she narrated the ordeal before the police.
Following the arrest of the accused, the senior police officials of the Pimpri Chinchwad area stated that the girl goes to school by school bus. However, for the last three months, whenever the bus passed in front of the sweet shop, the accused used to look at the girl and blow kisses at her. Not only this, the accused also made objectionable gestures and tried to speak to the victim.
Meanwhile, during an awareness session on ‘good touch and bad touch’ by a woman police personnel in her school, the victim narrated how a sweet shop employee was harassing her.
The police then launched a probe into the incident. They also informed the girl’s parents. Later, two women cops and the girl’s father took her to the sweet shop, where she identified the man who was misbehaving with her.
The police have arrested the accused under Sections 78 (stalking), and 79 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and sections of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
