The deceased have been identified as Karan Kushwaha (22), Malti Kushwaha (28), and her one-year-old son.
After the gruesome incident, the victims' family members came to the spot and blocked the highway. However, police gave them assurances of concrete action, and the highway stretch was cleared, police said. Family members also demanded that there should be a deployment of traffic police on the stretch and that speed breakers should be installed to curb reckless driving.
All the demands have been accepted and action will be initiated on this after talking to high level officials, an official said.
Police said that the truck driver escaped from the spot of the incident after hitting the bike.
"We have also sent a team to search for him and will be arrested soon," City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Hina Khan said.
