Jaipur: Three people, including a toddler, died in a factory wall collapse in Rajasthan's Bikaner after heavy rain. The incident happened in Bikaner's Bichwal area.

The deceased were identified as Pinna, Sanjay, and one-year-old Manisha, all from Madhya Pradesh, Bichwal SHO Naresh Kumar.

This comes as Rajasthan continued to experience heavy downpours, with Malpura in Tonk recording 176 mm of rain within 24 hours, according to the Met Office on Friday.

Several districts, such as Jaipur, Tonk, Sawai Madhopur, Kota, Chittorgarh, Jhunjhunu, Alwar, Udaipur, and Jodhpur, experienced light to moderate rainfall on Friday, said a spokesperson from the Jaipur Meteorological Centre.

The heavy downpour in Tonk on Friday caused rivers and streams to overflow, significantly raising the water levels in many dams.

In Namokiya village of the Malpura area in Tonk, three individuals on a tractor became stranded in the fast-moving water while attempting to cross a stream. Police successfully rescued them, according to Malpura SHO Chenaram.

Two-Day School Holiday

As a precaution, the administration has declared a two-day school holiday, he added.

Other significant rainfall measurements included 116 mm in Sajangarh (Banswara), 107 mm in Tijara, 101 mm in Danpur, 102 mm in Nainwan (Bundi), 97 mm in Thanagazi, 90 mm in Pipalda (Kota), 88 mm in Tapukda, 82 mm in Fagi (Jaipur), 75 mm in Karauli, 75 mm in Ramgarh, 68 mm in Nawalgarh (Jhunjhunu), and 65 mm in Baswa (Dausa).

Several parts of the state reported moderate to heavy rainfall over 24 hours, according to the weather office.

From Friday morning until 5:30 pm, Karauli recorded 55.5 mm of rain, Anta 28 mm, Bikaner 21.4 mm, Kota 17.8 mm, Jaipur 17.6 mm, and Dholpur 9 mm, with light to moderate rain recorded in various other locations.

The highest recorded temperature on Friday was 40.8 degrees Celsius in Phalodi and Bikaner, followed by 39.8 degrees in Ganganagar, 39.6 degrees in Jaisalmer, 38.6 degrees in Jodhpur, 39 degrees in Barmer, 38.3 degrees in Sangaria, and 36.4 degrees in Jalore.

A circulation over southwestern Uttar Pradesh and adjacent eastern Rajasthan, along with the monsoon trough passing through Bikaner and Sikar, contributed to the heavy rains, according to the weather office.

The monsoon is expected to remain active in most of eastern Rajasthan, with significant rainfall forecasted for Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Bharatpur, and Udaipur divisions.

Heavy rain is predicted for Tonk and nearby districts. Rainfall is likely to continue in eastern Rajasthan on Saturday but may decrease on Sunday and June 8.

Some parts of northeastern Rajasthan are expected to receive rain on Sunday and June 8, with an increase anticipated on July 9-10.

The Bikaner division and the eastern and northern parts of the Jodhpur division are also likely to see rain in the next two to three days, according to the weather office.
