Train Services to Be Partially Affected in Madurai Railway Division From Today | Check List

The works will be carried out between Koodal Nagar and Samayanallur; Madurai and Koodal Nagar; and Madurai and Dindigul upline from September 19 to October 8.

Madurai: The train services within the Madurai railway division will be briefly affected due to engineering works in the division, the Southern Railway announced. The works will be carried out between Koodal Nagar and Samayanallur; Madurai and Koodal Nagar; and Madurai and Dindigul upline from September 19 to October 8.

“Change in the pattern of Train Services Fixed Time Corridor blocks have been approved for September, 2024 for facilitating engineering works between Kudalnagar and Samayanallur, Madurai and Kudalnagar, Madurai and Dindigul upline from 19th September to 08th October, 2024,” read a statement by the Southern Railway.

Here is the list of trains whose services will get affected:

  • Train No. 16845 Erode – Sengottai Express scheduled to leave Erode at 2pm from September 18 to 22; September 24 to 30; and from October 2 to 7 will be partially cancelled between Dindigul and Sengottai. It will be short-terminated at Dindigul.
  • While train No. 16846 Sengottai – Erode Express scheduled to leave Sengottai at 5am from September 19 to 24; September 26 to 30; and on October 1 and from October 3 to 8 will be partially cancelled between Sengottai and Dindigul. The train will leave Dindigul at its scheduled departure time of 11.15am.
  • Train No. 16848 Sengottai – Mayiladuturai Express which will leave Sengottai at 7.05am from September 19 to 24; September 26 to 30; and on October 1, and from October 3 to 7 will see some diversions. It will be diverted via Virudhunagar, Manamadurai, Karaikudi and Tiruchi. It will not halt at its stoppages at Kalligudi, Tirumangalam, Tirupparankundram, Madurai, Kodaikanal Road, Dindigul, Vadamadura Vaiyampatti and Manapparai. Meanwhile, additional stoppages would be provided at Manamadurai and Karaikudi.
  • Train No. 16128 Guruvayur – Chennai Egmore Express scheduled to leave Guruvayur at 11.15pm on September 23, and from September 25 to 27; and from October 2 and 3 will be diverted via Manamadurai, Karaikudi and Virudunagar.
  • Train No. 16352 Nagercoil – Mumbai CST Express which leaves Nagercoil at 6.15am  will be diverted via Virudhunagar, Manamadurai, Karaikudi and Tiruchi, on September 26 and October 3.
  • Train No. 12666 Kanniyakumari – Howrah Superfast Express which leaves Kanniyakumari at 5.50am will be diverted via Virudhunagar, Manamadurai, Karaikkudi and Tiruchi,  on September 28.
  • Train No. 16354 Nagercoil – Kacheguda Express scheduled to depart from Nagercoil at 9.15am will be diverted via Dindigul and Karur, on September 28.
  • Train No. 22631 Madurai – Bikaner Anuvrat Express that leaves Madurai at 11.55am will be diverted via Madurai, Manamadurai and Karaikudi, on September 26 and October 3.
