Nirmala Sitharaman Presents Budget 

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scripting history by presenting her seventh consecutive budget, the most by any Finance Minister in India; Sitharaman will break Morarji Desai's record of six budgets.

The budget is being presented in paperless format; live updates and live streaming can be done on the official websites of media organisations, television channels, YouTube and social media platforms and the Union Budget App.

Union Budget 2024: What Gets Expensive? 

1. BCD on ammonium nitrate and plastics increased - 10 to 25% increase
2. PVC pipes will go costly
3. Unlisted bonds and debentures will attract tax on capital gain
4. The basic customs duty on certain telecom equipment has been increased from 10% to 15%.
