The police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem.
Kannauj (UP): A man brutally killed his 30-year-old daughter to death with an axe over her interfaith marriage in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, police said on Saturday.
The victim, Parul, had married a Muslim man two years ago against her family's wishes. She came to her father's house after two years on Raksha Bandhan this week. Since then her family members used to have arguments over the same issue, Circle Officer (CO) Kamlesh Kumar said. On Friday night, her father, Surendra Singh Thakur, attacked her with an axe during one such dispute, according to Circle Officer (CO) Kamlesh Kumar.
The police arrived at the scene, took custody of the body, and sent it for post-mortem.

This shocking incident comes shortly after a similar crime in Maharashtra’s Thane district.
