The man, identified as Tushar Saxena, who claims he has never been to Noida, has been slapped with a fine of Rs 1,000.
Noida: In a bizarre incident, a man in Uttar Pradesh was fined for not wearing a helmet while driving his car.
The man, identified as Tushar Saxena, who claims he has never been to Noida, has been slapped with a fine of Rs 1,000.
He initially ignored the messages, believing them to be a mistake. However, the matter escalated when he received another email and message.
The man, who lives in Rampur district, around 200 km from Noida, contacted the traffic police and was informed that he was fined for driving his four-wheeler without a helmet.
Saxena remarked, "I have never driven my car to the NCR area. If there's any rule that requires wearing a helmet inside a car, then the authorities must provide this in writing."
The police advised him that he would have to appear in court if he did not pay the fine.
According to reports, the Rampur-based man bought his Hyundai car in March last year. He has urged the Noida Police to revoke the case and the fine.
In a similar incident, in June last year, the Gautam Budh Nagar traffic police issued a ₹1,000 challan to a government school teacher for driving her car without a helmet in Noida’s Hoshiyarpur locality. The woman stated that she did not own any bike registered in her name.
