New Delhi In a tragic incident at the Tirumala temple complex in Andhra Pradesh, a woman devotee sustained severe injuries when a tree branch fell on her. The accident occurred on Friday at Japali Theertham, a revered waterbody within the temple grounds.
The devotee was walking near the temple entrance when a branch from a nearby tree broke off and fell on her, leading to critical injuries. Temple staff took her to a hospital for medical treatment.
Sources report that the devotee has suffered a spinal cord injury and is currently undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the branch's collapse and to prevent future incidents.
Tirumala, located in Andhra Pradesh, is renowned for its sacred hill temple dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, also known as Lord Balaji. It is one of the most significant pilgrimage sites in India, attracting millions of devotees annually.
