Gonda: At least 4 people were killed and several others were injured as 12 coaches of the Dibrugarh Express derailed near Gonda, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. The derailment involved Train No. 15904, which was traveling from Chandigarh to Dibrugarh. Out of the 12 derailed coaches, four were AC compartments that came off the tracks a few kilometers before reaching the Jhilahi railway station.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath briefed about situation
“Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath takes cognisance of the train accident in the Gonda district. He directs the officials to reach the spot immediately and expedite the relief work; gives instructions for proper treatment of the injured,” Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister office said.
Assam CM takes stock of situation
Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has been briefed about the derailment of the Dibrugarh - Chandigarh express in Uttar Pradesh. He is monitoring the situation and the Government of Assam is in touch with relevant authorities:
