Woman, Her 2 Children Washed Away As Cloudburst Strikes Ramban in Jammu and Kashmir

Ramban: In a tragic incident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban District, a woman and her two children are feared to be washed away in the flood water, after a cloudburst struck the district’s Rajgarh Tehsil on Monday. Several teams of the district administration rushed to the spot and efforts were initiated to trace the missing trio.

According to the sources, a massive cloudburst struck the Rajgarh tehsil of Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district on Monday, causing a major flood-like situation in the area. The cloudburst resulted in a landslide in the area as well, which washed away a school building, a mill along with a few other establishments.

The flash flood triggered by the cloudburst has also washed away four vehicles in the Rajgarh area of Ramban district, reports said.

In an official statement, the Deputy Commissioner of the Ramban District said that the rescue teams are on the spot even as the district administration is mobilising all available resources.

The district official also stated that the cloudburst occurred in Panchayats Kumate, Dhraman and Halla. The administration has also urged the residents to remain alert and rely only on official information.
