Dr. Sandeep Guleria is the frontman for general surgery, gastrointestinal surgery and transplantations, whose work has been taken as a blueprint for future doctors and surgeons. He had been the driving force for modifying the Human Organ Transplant Act. He is an active member of the ethics committee of the Transplantation Society. Dr. Guleria had been the team leader during the 1st cadaveric renal surgery and kidney pancreatic transplant in India. He believes that diet and lifestyle changes are an important part of the treatment for the early kidney diseases.

Although there are many treatments for kidney failures, the best option is a transplant. The kidneys are transplanted from a living donor or a deceased donor, who is called a cadaver.
