Have you ever thought about why we think, feel and act the way we do? Author Vishal Jacob came up with such interesting ideas in response the question, in his book Connecting with Yourself – Why we think, feel and act the way we do, which is available in online platforms. The author in his book tried the connect the readers with their very own self, which he claimed will help them understand themselves better.

The author, who believes that the "larger problems we solve are all people related issues" also emphasized on the fact the "ability to introspect helps an individual to become open and accepting of others, leading to better team dynamics."

Vishal, who is a part-time writer, is also the Vice President of Digital Media & Marketing at WaveMaker India, with over He has over 17 years of experience in the field of digital marketing, communication planning, and consumer behavior. As per the author, the experience he has gained from his work, that involves retaining talent, collaborating with colleagues, managing clients and of course managing a boss’s expectations, the understanding of why we behave the way we do. 

The book is a reflection of his learning in over years, where the author has looked into the most relatable issues of daily life, such as Perceptions, which is the main reason behind conflicts, Growth,  Decisions,  Habits & Willpower,  Happiness and most importantly the connection we have with ourselves.

Explaining the reason he took up the initiative of writing the book, Vishal says, "My attempt through this book is to help an individual understand facets of his/her own self and explore the many reasons for why we think feel and act the way we do."
