There has been quite some time Indian rap culture has been simmering in the background. Finally, we can be rest assured, it will attain a forefront position this year with the release of the most-awaited film of 2019- Gully Boy. Zoya Akhtar, the director of Gully Boy, Zoya Akhtar said she was shocked when she learned how big the rap culture is in India and feels they should be given the right platform to showcase their talent.

Capitalizing on this insight, Ola, one of the world’s largest ride sharing platforms, collaborated with Excel Entertainment - the makers of upcoming film, ‘Gully Boy’. Under the partnership, Ola offered a unique platform to the country’s aspiring rappers, wherein they invited to share their songs and win a chance to showcase their talent to the entire country!

Conceptualized with the intent of encouraging the people from all walks of life to showcase their talent, the participants were required to record a rap song while sitting in an Ola, using the Gully Beat app. Videos had to be submitted on Ola’s Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram; using #GullyGullyOla before 13th February, 2019. While the participants get a chance to reach out to Ola’s vast customer and follower base, the winners will also be winning ‘Gully Boy’ goodie bags and an opportunity to meet Ranveer Singh!
