The Banker Who Dared to Dream: How Bhanu Srivastav is Rewriting India's Work-Culture
Infinity. Bhanu story is one of relentless passion, dedication, and a vision to revolutionize how businesses use technology while prioritizing human resources.
Bhanu Srivastav, a former banker turned AI entrepreneur, founded Infinity to revolutionize industries with cutting-edge technology while prioritizing employee well-being. Through innovative HR policies like the four-day work week and flexible remote work, Infinity has quickly become a standout in both tech and work culture.
In a world where dreams are often overshadowed by the demands of stability, Bhanu Srivastav stands as a source of inspiration. A mechanical engineer turned banker, Bhanu made the bold decision to leave behind a secure banking career to launch his own AI startup, Infinity. His story is one of relentless passion, dedication, and a vision to revolutionize how businesses use technology while prioritizing human resources.
From Banking to Breakthroughs
Bhanu’s journey is far from ordinary. After completing his engineering degree, he joined a public sector bank and excelled in his career, but his thirst for knowledge never waned. Alongside his demanding banking job, Bhanu pursued nearly a hundred certifications in Information Technology and Information System Security. His impressive portfolio includes prestigious credentials like ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and Certified Ethical Hacker. Determined to expand his expertise, he learned about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) from the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad.
His love for technology led him to conduct extensive research in AI and ML, which he worked on every night after his banking hours. This dedication bore fruit when his research papers were published in multiple international journals, marking the beginning of his transition into the world of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Founding Infinity: A Collaborative Dream
Bhanu’s vision of Infinity was not a solo pursuit. He co-founded the company with two other brilliant minds: Abhishek, an alumnus of IIT Madras with a PhD from Berlin, Germany, and Diwan Singh Chauhan, a data scientist from the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, DRDO. Abhishek, a former research scientist at IIT Ropar, holds a U.S. patent and has published several research papers in micro and nanofluidics, working on cutting-edge projects like creating self-healing materials. Diwan, a highly skilled data scientist, brings his expertise from India’s premier defense research organization to Infinity.
Together, this trio set out to create a company rooted in research, innovation, and a mission to transform industries such as healthcare, engineering, finance, and entertainment. Infinity’s focus is not just on profitability but on making a meaningful impact on society and the environment.
Meteoric Rise: Infinity’s Rapid Success
In just three months, Infinity’s valuation skyrocketed to an impressive ₹122 crore, driven by the patents, intellectual property, and cutting-edge projects in their portfolio. What makes Infinity’s success even more remarkable is that Bhanu launched the startup without any external funding. Every software system used is robustly developed in-house, and more than 1,000 people from different countries work on the platform simultaneously. Infinity is hosted on Amazon ’s EC2 servers, ensuring scalability and reliability. Despite the heavy load, the system has never crashed—highlighting the company’s technological strength.
A Revolution in Work Culture
Infinity isn’t just a tech powerhouse—it’s also redefining work culture. Bhanu believes in fostering a work environment that promotes both happiness and productivity. Infinity operates on a four-day work week, and Bhanu has fully embraced this approach, leading to a 40% increase in productivity. His forward-thinking policies ensure that employees enjoy a healthier work-life balance.
Infinity’s HR policies are equally progressive. Employees have the flexibility to work remotely for as long as they wish, and there is a strict policy against calls or messages after office hours. Female employees are entitled to three days of paid menstrual leave, and all employees are allowed to moonlight, encouraging them to explore their passions. These innovative practices have made Infinity one of the most desirable startups to work for in India.
A Visionary Leader
At a young age, Bhanu Srivastav has accomplished more than most achieve in a lifetime. He has published research papers in some of the world’s most prestigious journals, founded a profitable startup without any funding, and transformed the work culture of his company—all while staying true to his values of innovation and employee well-being.
Infinity isn’t just another tech startup; it’s a movement. It’s a company built on the foundation of research, innovation, and the belief that businesses can thrive while respecting both people and the planet. Bhanu Srivastav, with his co-founders Abhishek and Diwan, is showing the world that it’s possible to succeed without compromising on ethics, passion, or the human element.
