Aranya Johar is an Indian poet and an activist. She has taken the help of social media to address issues like gender equality, mental health as well as body positivity. She is known for her slam poetry to confront beauty standards. Aranya gained popularity after her very first piece A Brown Girl's Guide to Gender that became a viral sensation and reportedly hit 1 million views within two days of its upload.
Aranya has also collaborated with actor Akshay Kumar in her poem Bleeding Rani for his movie PadMan. 21-year-old poet Aranya has also been a speaker at TEDxICTMumbai in April 2017. Social Nation recently announced on their Twitter handle that Aranya Johar is going to be performing at the Social Nation event which will be held on October 19-20 at the Jio Garden in Mumbai.
