A vineyard is a place where one can relish their favourite red and white wine. Here are a few popular vineyards that everyone should visit once in a lifetime.

The consumption of wine started in the Indus Valley Civilization. But, it was in the 1900s when the wine consumption and production started increasing rapidly. Today, many vineyards are setting up tasting rooms inside their wineries for the public to taste and relish different types of wines. Set amid serene surroundings, here are a few wineries that offer some of the best wines in the country.

Sula Vineyards
Started in 1999, Sula Vineyards is among the most famous wineries in the country. Sprawling over 3000 acres, Sula Vineyards is located in Nashik, Maharashtra. Visitors can take a walk in the winery and have a taste of some of their naturally brewed wines. Some of the white and red wines available for tasting are Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Zinfandel Rosé, Dia Red, Satori Merlot and Cabernet Shiraz, among others. The winery also has a luxury resort named Beyond, where all guests can accommodate themselves.

Fratelli Wines
The vineyard was founded in 2007. Fratelli Wines was started by three pairs of brothers from Delhi, Italy and Maharasthra. Fratelli Wines has a 240-acre estate located in different parts of Maharashtra. The vineyard has various packages that offer cheap accommodation and wine tasting sessions to the public. Reportedly, the vineyard makes the best red wines in the country. Some of the white and red wines available for tasting at Fratelli Wines are Chenin Blanc, Sette, Chardonnay and Sangiovese Bianco, among others.

Grover Zampa
In 2012, two famous wineries merged to form Grover Zampa. The winery, a product of the merger between Grover Vineyards and It is located in the outskirts of Bangalore and Maharashtra and offers wine tours for all its visitors. 

York Winery and Tasting Room
York Winery and Tasting Room is located near the Gangapur Dam, Maharashtra. The winery is famous among its visitors for its serene location and wine tasting sessions. The York Winery and Tasting room is open every day. The winery has won many awards for its varied range of red and white wines.

Charosa Vineyard
Charosa Vineyard started in 2008 in the Charosa Village, Maharashtra. The winery is famous among the visitors for its Tuscan theme and modern architecture. The vineyard produces three premium range wines namely, Reserve, Pleasures, and Selection. Its wines such as Reserve Tempranillo, Sauvignon Blanc, and Voignier, are all worth trying.
