As the Diwali 2019 ends, another festival is knocking your doors. Chhath Puja 2019 is here. This year, Chhath Puja will be celebrated on November 02 and November 03, which will fall on Saturday and Sunday respectively. The two-day festival is famously celebrated in Delhi and nearby cities. On the occasion of Chhath Puja 2019, schools and educational institutions in Delhi will remain closed tomorrow, i.e. November 02, 2019. The Delhi government has also declared 2nd November as a holiday in all government offices in National Capital Territory of Delhi, on account of 'Chhat Puja.' Chhath Puja is celebrated on the sixth day of the month of Karthika in the Vikram Samvat, which also means it is the sixth days after Diwali. Chhath Puja is dedicated to the sun god and his wife. It is also one of the most popular festivals in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. It is also an important festival in Nepal. Chhath Puja, a major Hindu festival. Chhath Puja is marked with an official one-day public holiday in some states in India.

On the occasion of Chhath Puja 2019, schools and other educational institutions will remain closed for either of the celebrated days in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The Chhath Puja is done during the sunrise and sunset time. Devotees start their puja by taking a dip into the running river water. They also offer sweets, fruits to the 'God of light' and wish for their prosperity, happiness, and well-being.

The festival of Chhath Puja is celebrated twice a year. In Summers during Chaitra Shashthi or Chaiti Chhath in March and April. In Winters during Karthik Chhath in October and November. Following are the important dates and timings for Chhath Puja 2019. Check out:
