Classic Coca-Cola is one of the biggest selling beverages across the globe. The carbonated soft drink that was invented in the late 19th century by John Pemberton for the medical purpose was brought to the market by Asa Griggs Candler under the banner of Coca-Cola Company. The company dominated the soft drink market throughout the 20th century.

The drink was originally named after its basic ingredients: coca leaves, and kola nuts (a source of caffeine).

In the course of time, the company had come up with several new versions of the aerated drink.
