Ingredients
1 cup moringa (drumstick) leaves
2 sprigs curry leaves
1 tbsp chana dal
1 tbsp urad dal
1 red chili
2-3 garlic cloves
5-6 shallots
4 tbsp grated coconut
A small piece of tamarind
2 tsp wood-pressed groundnut oil
Salt to taste
Method
Clean the moringa leaves thoroughly.
Heat groundnut oil in an iron kadai. Add urad dal, chana dal, red chili, and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
Add garlic, shallots, and grated coconut. Sauté until golden brown.
Add tamarind and salt.
Once cooled, grind the mixture using a mortar and pestle for enhanced flavour.
Serve with hot rice and ghee.
