Macrobiotic diets promote good health and fitness. This type of diet is followed by people who are mainly diagnosed with heart disease, obesity, or premenstrual syndrome. The macrobiotic diet, most of the time, alleviates symptoms and supports recovery.

What is a macrobiotic diet?

A macrobiotic diet is mainly about eating simple and having a healthy diet. The diet was developed by a Japanese philosopher called George Ohsawa. According to Ohsawa's claims, the macrobiotic diet can help in treating or curing cancer. However, there is still no scientific evidence to support these claims.

An individual following this diet should avoid food that contains toxins and unnecessary fats. These people are denoted as vegans who do not consume dairy products or meats. However, some people following macrobiotic diets also include organic fish and meat.

However, no evidence or research has provided any evidence that shows the ability of macrobiotic diet on curing diseases. This diet includes only vegetables, making it rich in phytoestrogens. Phytoestrogens are naturally occurring chemical compounds found in plants. According to a study of the year 2001, this diet may eliminate breast cancer risks. The research is yet to be updated.

Macrobiotic eating may be beneficial for some diabetic patients as it eliminates sugary foods from the diet. However, this vegan diet includes whole grains which may have less impact on blood sugar.
