All-purpose flour or wheat flour is a common food item in every Indian kitchen. The wheat flour is a common ingredient in many foods, including bread, roti, noodles and desserts. While many people love having wheat daily, some have allergies and problems related to wheat flour. Here are three alternatives to wheat flour. Have a look at them. 

Four flour types better than Wheat flour 

Almond Flour 

Almond flour is made of blanched almond. Reportedly, the almond flour is made by mixing blanched almond with wheat flour. According to an online health portal, Almond flour has a mild flavour and is high on protein. Almond flour can also be used while preparing muffin, cookie or cake.

Buckwheat Flour 

Buckwheat Flour is popular as kuttu in vernacular language. The flour is made by grinding buckwheat grain. Reportedly, buckwheat should be used with wheat for better taste. There are two varieties of buckwheat. One is white buckwheat and the other is dark buckwheat (commonly called as kuttu in India).

Ragi Flour 

Ragi Flour is made by grinding small seeds of finger ragi. It is suggested to roast the cereal before grinding. Reportedly, mixing Ragi flour with wheat flour enhances the flavour and is nutritious.

Oat flour 

Oat flour has better texture and flavour compared to all-purpose flour making it a healthier substitute. Reportedly, the flour can also be used as a substitute in cakes, biscuits and muffins. The best part about using oat flour is, it is a healthier option and is easy to make.
