McDonald’s in Lynwood, California has turned its iconic logo “M” upside down so that it forms a “W,” which stands for “women.” This is done in an effort to celebrate women since it’s International Women’s Day.
McDonald’s Chief Diversity Officer, Wendy Lewis was reported as saying in a statement that for the first time in their brand history, they have flipped their iconic arches for International Women’s Day in honour of the extraordinary accomplishments of women everywhere and especially in their restaurants.
From restaurant crew and management to McDonald’s C-Suite of senior leadership, women play invaluable roles at all levels and together with their independent franchise owners, they are committed to their success, Lewis further added.
In addition to this, McDonald’s also plans on turning all of its logo on all digital channels upside down. Hundred other restaurants will be carrying special packaging, crew shirts, hats and bag stuffers featuring the same logo in order to celebrate International Women’s Day.
