The Fitness challenge issued by Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Youth Affairs and Sports & Information and Broadcasting, has gone completely viral, with celebrities from India's sporting, entertainment and political fraternities taking it up under the slogan 'hum fit toh India fit'! Col Rathore published his own video where he demonstrates how he has added a fitness regimen to his daily work-day and puts the challenge forth to others.
Now, however, the most enthusiastic proponent of the #FitnessChallenge has come to light and it's none other than MoS Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju!
Rijiju was first challenged by his fellow Minister Jayant Sinha, who posted a video of himself doing a Suryanamaskar and tagged Assam CM Sabarnanda Sonowal and Ministers of State Babul Supriyo and Kiren Rijiju.
In response, Kiren Rijiju took up the challenge by showing off his sitting planks on a chair. Not done, he also performed push-ups, the same as Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore had done in his own challenge.
Kiren Rijiju challenged Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu, and actors Salman Khan and Saumya Tandon.
Col Rathore appreciated Kiren Rijiju's efforts, writing
The two are said to share a close camaraderie and Rijiju has earlier credited Col Rathore for inspiring him towards being fit.
Clearly emboldened by the praise, Rijiju decided to take up the challenge again, and this time, it wasn't in his office!
He kitted up, found himself some gym equipment, and then did 17 pull-ups!
Having raised the bar (and then some), Rijiju challenged Bollywood 'Khiladi' Akshay Kumar as well as boxers Sushil Kumar and Vijender Singh!
People are amazed by Kiren Rijiju's second performance:
