Inflammatory foods could be the reason for it, these foods are known to hinder your weight loss journey and don't let any weight loss diet work. Inflammation leads to weight gain, drowsiness, immunity issues, skin troubles, digestive issues, along with various other health conditions.

What is inflammation and how it affects weight loss?

Inflammation is basically your body's natural way of protecting itself from harmful stimuli like pathogens or any kind of irritants by releasing a specific set of molecular response in the form of immune cells and other molecular mediators. The food which causes inflammation reactions in your gut includes processed foods, sugar, fried foods, red meat, trans fats, alcohol, vegetable oil and refined foods majorly. When the inflammation becomes chronic, it is very crucial that you take care of the food groups you are consuming as chronic inflammation causes weight gain and a series of other related diseases.

Anti-inflammatory foods

People who are on the road to their weight loss journey are generally advised to avoid anti-inflammatory food groups. These foods are noted to be rich in antioxidants and polyphenols (protective compounds found in plants) that help in disorders like rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, Crohn's disease, diabetes, obesity, lupus and heart disease. Anti-inflammatory food groups include berries like blueberries, blackberries, and cherries, leafy greens like kale and spinach, green tea, cinnamon, nuts like almond and walnuts, tomatoes, olive oil, fatty fish like salmon, tuna, and sardines. Mediterranean diet is also suggested as it basically consists of all these anti-inflammatory food groups.
